The Cemetery Dance

Today is Friday July 10th. We just came from dinner and are working on our grand website. Check out the Voki Mrs.Keeney made...(you can make one, too). The Cemetery Dance is the 8th book in a series written by Lincoln and Preston. It all started with the book "The Relic". Did you see the movie? pretty scary...we can't put the book down. It starts with a monster in the basement of a museum and the story flies from there. Short chapters, exciting characters, imaginative places, and a fast plot makes reading fun... Have you ever heard of the Relic or a similar story? Leave a comment. Don't stay up to late reading and surfing the web...

Good Day all you surfers....Today is Monday, July 6....hope everyone had a cool 4th of July....today's blog is about short stories....what is your favorite short story? One of our favs is "The Girl with the Black Ribbon"....it was sort of a scary one....it was about this beautiful girl who always wore a black ribbon around her neck. Before she married the love of her life, he asked her why she always wore that black ribbon and she said, she could never take it off or he would be sorry! I guess one night he was too curious because while she was asleep, he cut the ribbon and unfortunately, her head fell off! As her head rolled down the steps, she cried...."I told you, you would be s-o-r-r-y!!!!!!!

David Lubar's goal is to delight and entertain his readers. He certainly does this in short-story collections and books like his "Weenies" series, True Talents, and Dunk, using a combination of adventure, cliffhangers, explosions and wacky humor. When asked if he writes with boy's in mind, Lubar demurred, "the ability of girls to appreciate a good lit fart is vastly under-rated in our society." Hear, hear.
